Leadership

Courage To Lead

Sometimes the greatest barrier to revitalizing our ministries is the fear of change.  The comfort of the known is often preferable to the uncertainty of the unknown.  But breathing new life into established ministry contexts requires new ideas and the willingness to see them through.  It is not enough to tell our congregation that we have a good idea - they expect us to lead. We need to show the way, to make an investment in our own time and resources, and to take a chance that everything that we say and do will not always be immediately accepted. We need to lead so that others will be confident enough to follow. If we fear failure and are paralyzed at the thought of change, then new ideas become impossible to achieve.

Listen to this young TEDx speaker tell us about confronting our own fears of stepping out of our comfort zone. What does it mean to "Run from Comfort"?
